Holy Hour
and Healing Service
In Honour of Our Lady for the Sacrifice Her Beloved
Son Jesus made for us, we come together in church
on certain Friday evenings through- out the year, in Jersey to worship
the risen presence of God and give thanks.Holy Hours and Healing Services are held by our Priests and Deacons as
we witness the real presence of God in the Blessed Sacrament which is
venerated and glorified in a candlelight church with burning incense. In
attendance with the Priests, Deacons, Religious, Lay members, believers
and non-believers we come together in
prayer and songs of worship.
The idea was born from discussions concerning an inner
calling from Our Lady "Go and get Your Brothers and Sisters and bring
them here to me" she said.............."this was the inner voice I could
hear as I played my guitar and sang to Our Lady on Friday nights in St.
Thomas Church which I did on my own, after I had permission from Cannon
Nicholas France the Roman Catholic Dean of Jersey........it seemed
strange as I have Brothers but not Sisters, I decided to talk to Father
Peter Glas who suggested a Holy Hour, with adoration of the Blessed
Sacrament. Together with my late Mother Mary Le Claire, we held the
first Holy Hour saying that we would be happy if we would be joined by
ten people. The first night we had over fifty and now they number
between six and seven hundred!"
